Origin: Originating from Southern Central Europe, the Mediterranean Sea, Iran, and Central Asia.

Lemon Balm is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Lamiaceae mint family sought after for its distinct lemon flavor with a whiff of bitterness. Lemon Balm has a long tradition as a medicinal herb and can be found in many gardens around the world. Mostly attributable to the concentration of nectar in flowers, the name Melissa is derived from the Greek word mélissa denoting "honeybee".
