RED SHISO

Origin: Eastern China
Red Shiso is an earthy microgreen with a tangy taste, which exerts an aroma reminiscent of cinnamon and cloves.
The Japanese have used shiso for its anti-inflammatory qualities in traditional medicine. Shiso microgreens were introduced into the West in the 1850s. It was not until the 1980s-1990s that these microgreens were first cultivated in southern California.
